Kat's Cafe: A homey and uber cute place!

We just came from Tagaytay and battled the usual traffic of Cavite so when we arrived in Las Pinas we were hungry.

We decided to check out the newly opened Robinson's Place Las Pinas and decided to eat there. We ate Classic Savory which I think doesn't need any introductions anymore since they are already established.

Once our tummies were full from dinner, I suggested we eat dessert from Kat's. I saw the cafe before entering Classic Savory since they are adjacent to each other.

I have been hearing of Kat's from friends in Facebook back when they were inside BF. Luckily, they moved here so we can all sample their delicious food!

They have indoor and outdoor dining.

These shelves right here doubles as the cafe's door to the restroom. Pretty neat huh? :)

Cupcake racks seems empty? The chef said that they usually make the cupcakes as they are ordered or probably just sends finished ones once it's ordered.

They have cakes too! :)

The different toppings and designs you can put on your cakes/cupcakes.

Of course, their Christmas tree is not complete without the cupcake! :D

B: Strawberry Cheescake, Cookie Dough
C: Creme Brulee, Chocolate Souffle
T: Midnight Espresso, Death by Chocolate

A closer look on the Cookie dough cupcake!
The cupcakes were delicious!! Wasn't a fan of the creme brulee (too bland and a little bit watery/mushy for me) and the souffle (tasted divine but would have tasted so much more if it was freshly cooked), but the cupcakes were to die for specially the cookie dough cupcake! :D I am one happy kid (at heart haha).

I was able to talk to the chef a bit and he told me that they were first located in BF, however there, the cafe and the dessert place were separated, so it was a good move for them to relocate to have the 2 components under 1 roof.

If you are in the area and are looking for something new to try, you can visit Kat's Cafe located inside Robinsons Place Las Pinas.

Below are their links and contact details.

Missy Bon Bon, Cagayan De Oro

Just got back from a recent travel to CDO, which I really enjoyed by the way. :) So on our final day in CDO, we decided to eat dinner at the original branch of Missy Bon Bon in LimKetKai Center.

Since we're not really familiar with the place, we just took a cab from our hotel (Hotel Xentro) to LimKetKai Center. It was just a Php 55.00 cab ride, *Php40 flagdown (yes it's that close haha).

And here we are! :)

Their menu list. It's like a fast food chain where you choose your order then order it via their cashier/counter.

The difference from fast food? They have their own Gelato! :))))
So anyway, my girlfriend and I went to Missy Bon Bon to have dinner, so we stood in front of their counter for a few minutes and said our orders.

They have a really cozy place and I bet it also looks good in the morning :)
Loved the lights, although I think there were some lights missing as I really can't see the pattern in the lamps.

Lemonade (Php 60.00) and Mixed Berry (Php 58.00)
The Lemonade was mine, while the the mixed berry was for my girl. Nothing special about their drinks, but we're refreshed. Thanks :)

Danggit meal with plain rice ( Php 135.00)
I tasted my gf's Danggit meal, and the danggit was delicious. Not sure if these were from Cebu or locally made.

Full Filipino Breakfast ( Php 259.00)
I had the Full Filipino Breakfast which contains garlic rice, 2pcs tocino, tapa, an egg, bangus and atchara. It was yummy! We were already full but made sure that we had space left for the gelato.

Blueberry (left) and Sansrival (Php 90.00 eavh)
We weren't able to buy the ever famous Missy Bon Bon pastel, since we already bought pastel from Camiguin. But, I wanted to go back to CDO, so maybe until then I'll have a taste of their pastel.

Total cost of our dinner? Php 692.00 only. Not bad since it included drinks and dessert! Well for me, it's worth the price. Plus they have a really generous serving of viands, so that made it more "sulit". :)

By the way, like any other breadshops, they offer a 30% discount or a buy 1 take 1 promo when it's nearing their closing time. If you wanted to visit their store, you may see their address below. They also have a branch at Centrio, inside Bigbys.

The Chocolate Bar - Yummy Desserts!

Mom decided to go to the Noel Bazaar after going to my Lola's house which gave me an opportunity to visit a friend's booth there. Upon entering the bazaar I was looking at the stalls one by one. Luckily, The Chocolate Bar is at the left side of the WTC so I saw it early on.

Photo from their FB page.

I was lucky that when I dropped by Alex was there. (Hi Alex! :) ) I was greeted with the yummy desserts in front of me and Alex being a friend and schoolmate offered me some free macarons! The Nutella flavored one is to die for. I also bought 6pcs of their ever famous red velvet cupcakes, I was regretful that I only bought 6, should have bought a dozen! Will be coming back this week to buy more. My friends loved the cupcakes. Seriously I think you can compete with Sonja's :)

That's Alex (left) owner of The Chocolate Bar. (photo from my phone)

If you guys are interested to visit them, they will still be at the Noel Bazaar til the 2nd of December! Hurry!
Oh they also take personalized orders, which you can pick up or have it delivered but with extra charge. If you'd like to visit them, you can contact them through their details below. Enjoy your desserts!

UPDATE: 27 Nov 12

I went back to the Noel Bazaar with the GF, and of course I passed by The Chocolate Bar again :) Didn't see Alex there, I asked if Alex is coming but was informed that she will be back by tomorrow (she's currently baking some delicious goodness). Well that didn't stop me from buying Red Velvet cupcakes again :)

Mochiko | Ice Cream ♥

Just awhile a go we ate at the Black Canyon (post to follow) and we passed by Mochi Creme and Mochiko, both Japanese Ice cream desserts. I already had Mochi Creme and it was yummy so I knew I had to try one Mochiko this time.

They just recently opened their kiosk in SM Southmall (I always see them in ATC) and I decided that I got to let my girlfriend taste a Mochi.

New Kiosk! Looks sheek! (Sorry for the shot , all photos are straight from my phone)

What I loved about it is that they have more flavors than Mochi creme and in my opinion  theirs tastes a lot better and yummier than Mochi creme.

Cookie dough flavor, the size is a bit small, but the flavors really explode in your mouth.

If you'd like to visit them, they have a lot of stores nationwide. You can search for a store near you in their website posted below :)

Mochi Creme, a Japanes Ice Cream

I just had to share this! Such a cute and yummy thing. We were strolling the mall and looking for my sister's shoes when I spotted their kiosk. It had those cute drawings, like those of the Ragnarok character (Poring monster).

I got curious so I asked my mom and sister to stop walking to buy us some. I chose the Blue vanilla flavor and followed their instructions to wait a little before taking a bite. It had a weird feeling at first (Yeah first time to try it! ^_^ ) I think this is because of the chewy outer layer of the ice cream but when you bite into it more and more, it was yummy! Perfect dessert on the go. I'm guilty about forgetting to take a photo of it after my first bite since I couldn't stop eating eat LOL.

Php 65.00 Blue Vanilla flavor. (taken using my mobile phone)

Though it may not be the cheapest dessert, but if you want to try something new and delicious, it's definitely worth every penny. Their other flavors are Azuki Red Bean, Green Tea, Black Sesame and including Blue Vanilla all for Php 65 and Mango, Strawberry, Chocolate and Purple Yam (Ube) all for Php 60.00.

They already have several branches if you wanted to try them out.

Kuppa Roastery & Cafe in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City

Kuppa Menu

This is their Menu for their food. Don't have a picture of their menu for their coffees and teas.

Hot chocolate the comes with their Tapa. (below)

Their Tapa. This here is sooo yummy! The beef is tender and well-seasoned. Their vinegar sauce really compliments their tapa!

French De Luxe. Smoked ham, chicken salad and MELTED CHEESE!

Wimpy's Burger.
If I remember it right, Wimpy is the friend of Popeye who loves burgers.
This is an open burger with gravy and melted cheese. I loved the combination of melted cheese and their gravy!

Matt's Chocolate Cake (Lava Cake)
This dessert is to die for! I've had this countless of times but I still can't get enough of it. It's a moist (little crispy outside) cake with the chocolate kind of syrup in the center. I can't really describe it enough, so go and have one for yourself so you can understand me :)

Breakfast Linguine.

Strawberry Kiss. Yummy strawberries!

I think this is their Mocha something *uh oh i forgot sorry*

Ensaymada of Diamond Hotel (from Cake Club)

One time my officemate was asking "natikman nyo na ba yung ensaymada ng Diamond Hotel?" (Have you tried the ensaymada of Diamond Hotel?), I answered, no I haven't why? He's like OMG, it's heaven. He even said to another colleague of ours, if you have a suitor and he gave the ensaymadas to you, you will surely make him your boyfriend instantly. I was like, really? So I was a bit curious and I searched it over the web and saw a lot of bloggers who are also raving about it.

But going to the Diamond Hotel in Manila would entail travelling through traffic after office hours so I thought  maybe next time. When we were at Jamba Juice, we decided to check out the Cake Club for desserts, who knew (well I didn't) that the Cake Club is operated by Diamond Hotel. We quickly bought the Ube Ensaymada (its HUGE, mind you) and went back to the office.

Diamond Hotel
Ube Ensaymada @ Php 120.00

I was excited to open the pastry and taste it. Oh here's what's the inside looks like. It has the right amount of  ube or yam and the ensaymada is not overly sweet or oily from the butter. It's so soft but I bet it'll be softer and more enjoyable if I had put it in the microwave for a few seconds to heat it.

I loved the ensaymada and I would definitely come back to try the other desserts that they have.

Tully's at BGC

Finally, we got to use the voucher we bought from ensogo.

Baked cheescake! (i know cheesecake again? what can I do, they're YUM!) :) Yummy cheesecake but a bit too soft for me. But I think that's the way it's supposed to be since it's baked.

Apple and Rosemary bread. I liked the bread itself. But surprisingly, the part where there is apple is not appealing to me.

Oh yes, chocolate cake is yet to be missed. Can't really say no to chocolate cake. Though this specific cake kind of lacks moisture. But all in all, it still is a good one.

Anyone who tried other cakes or even their coffee? Feel free to comment
