Vikings Buffet Restaurant, re-visited!

I really enjoyed the first time that I ate at Vikings so I decided to bring my family along :)

Viking's waiting area. They start letting the people in at around 11 AM, the ones with the reservations first of course.

Their "Viking" logo.

Their rates in case you were wondering. Oh and I think until September this year, If it's your birthday, you get to eat free as long as you have 1 paying customer with you :) Valid ID is needed of course.

They really have a really nice design. It's cozy for me.

They have several buffet tables that offers different types of cuisine. This one for example is for your appetizers.

Your salad bar.

salad bar (left) soup & breads (right)

Salmon Sashimi, yummy!

The staff that are busy to prepare and replenish the buffet tables.

Unlimited drinks. Juice, sodas, coffee and beer!

After the hearty meal, you have to save a little more space for the desserts. They have a buffet table for desserts as well.

Yummy pastries!

When I first visited Vikings, there was only 1 fountain, the chocolate fountain, I was surprised and amazed that now there are 3, chocolate, strawberry and purple yam (ube).

Blueberry anyone?

They can also make you crepes if you'd like.

Acacia Hotel Buffet Restaurant: Acaci

I recently have stayed in the Acacia Hotel  and also have sampled their dinner buffet in their cafe. I was a little disappointed with the little choices that we have in the food (probably was still overwhelmed with Vikings and their extensive food choices)

A lot of utensils here, LOL.

view from our table
Their appetizer area. A small area haha

Entrees

The Halo Halo station. The Leche Flan was a bit bland.
Halo Halo ingredients

Appetizers. You have your bread, salami and steamed salmon.

Seared Tuna

Pasta station. You can choose which pasta and sauce you'd like have it cooked by them.

Roasted Pork
I chose Fettuccine with carbonara sauce. It's a little bland though. and the pasta a bit chewy.

Ebun Tempura (this one always goes out first and is frequently requested by the customers. Their version of Paella. It was ok for me.

Slow Roasted Lamb. Tastes great, the seasoning is ok though it's a bit chewy for me.

Grilled Swordfish.

Chorizo Stuffed Chicken. Not a fan, the chicken I got was dry.

Salmon Fillet.
You can never go wrong with Salmon. I loved this dish.

I know it's not yummy looking together, but I wanted to take a photo so there. ^_^

They also have a chocolate fountain and yes this is it. LOL

Brownie, carrot and mango cake and their YUMMY creme brulee.

If you'd like to visit Acacia Cafe, you might want to reserve a table just to be sure that you'll be seated.

Vikings Buffet Restaurant, SM Mall of Asia

I have been curious about Vikings for some time now. I've been hearing a lot of good things my friends are saying about this buffet restaurant so we tried it out. By the way, it was my friend's birthday and they had a promo going on that if it's your birthday, you eat free! Well provided that you bring along at least 1 paying guest  (in this case it was me, LOL).

Didn't get a photo of their facade (too many people wanted to take their photos there LOL)
settled for this instead.
Soooo many food to eat!

Got my share of Japanese Food here ^_^ oh and drinks are also free and unlimited

Yummy Angus steak!

I had these for dessert!

Their do it yourself halo-halo. My creation was ok, LOL.

They have their own Panacotta (if I'm correct), brownie and a lot of fruits and mallows that can be dipped in their chocolate fountain.

They also have their share of Frozen Yogurt.

I know you're kind of curious what it looks inside now, so here's a few photos.

They have a classy interior, which I like. :)

Vikings is packed on a Saturday weekend. We also had to be on the wait list. Good thing we were there early.
You have a lot of choices of Makis.

Tuna Sashimi presented uniquely.

You're good old appetizers. SALAD!

I really love their decor.

So much fresh seafood! Which by the way you can have cooked.

The chocolate fountain I was telling you about. They also have cakes, but wasn't a fan though.

Lots of fruits! You can eat them as is or you can dip it in the chocolate fountain as you wish.

Toppings you can put on your ice cream or yogurt.

I had a really full stomach after eating at Vikings. The food where phenomenon! I had a colleague eat there and they said that the lamb was also divine. Will try that on my next visit. The staff was also super attentive. In other buffet restaurants, you would have to call the staff's attention to clear your table. This was not the case in Vikings, once done and you decide to get another helping, when you come back your table is already clean.

If you'd like to visit Vikings, you may check their website and address below. Be sure to call them in advance to reserve a table or just be there early for lunch or dinner so you can be one of the first people to be wait listed.
