Rou Bourbon, Makati

My previous office mate and I decided to have lunch last Thursday and she suggested we eat at Rou Boubon near her office. Here's a photo of their place. It's perfect since it's just walking distance from BDO, and Trafalgar Tower.

I think they have a "New Orleans" taste to their food and the same feel in their restaurant. Well I'm just assuming since they have a similar feel to their restaurant as Gumbo. Their interior decor reminds you those old Mafia movies, with the bar stool downstairs and couch seating upstairs.

Their serving size is outrageous! This pasta can feed 2 people, same with the Fish and Chips. So the price of each meal is kind of reasonable for me.

Dixie Chicken with Pesto
Php 290.00

The Dixie chicken has a lot of flavor in it and is really crunchy. A perfect combination for your pasta with pesto sauce. Personally, I'd like it better if the chicken is a bit spicy, it'll add a little bit of "kick" in the dish.

Fish and Chips
Php 350.00

The Fish and Chips is a superb comfort food! The Fish is perfect, the batter didn't come off the fish, learned that one from watching Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares US, and it's well seasoned. The fries is also yummy!

We didn't get to try their drinks 'cause it's still early, but I'm definitely trying it soon. If you'd like to visit and try their food, you may see their address and contact details below.

New Domain name! www.iamcharm.com

I've been thinking a lot of changing my domain for the past months. My old domain (www.anything-under-the-sun.info) as you can see is too long but coming up with another domain name is another hard task.

Hard because you'd have to think of a good name that represents you and that is easy to remember or say or spell.

I was thinking of my name "Charm" and I thought of the movie "I am Sam", so I checked if the domain iamcharm.com is available and lucky me, it is! So I immediately bought the domain name.

I had a problem (will write a detailed post about this) for 3 days since I can't see my website and checked with www.who.is, my website was inactive. I contacted both GoDaddy and Google Apps regarding this and when they sent me the instructions, my site went up and I just can't stop smiling.

I'm just excited to post to my blog right now. :)

Ensaymada of Diamond Hotel (from Cake Club)

One time my officemate was asking "natikman nyo na ba yung ensaymada ng Diamond Hotel?" (Have you tried the ensaymada of Diamond Hotel?), I answered, no I haven't why? He's like OMG, it's heaven. He even said to another colleague of ours, if you have a suitor and he gave the ensaymadas to you, you will surely make him your boyfriend instantly. I was like, really? So I was a bit curious and I searched it over the web and saw a lot of bloggers who are also raving about it.

But going to the Diamond Hotel in Manila would entail travelling through traffic after office hours so I thought  maybe next time. When we were at Jamba Juice, we decided to check out the Cake Club for desserts, who knew (well I didn't) that the Cake Club is operated by Diamond Hotel. We quickly bought the Ube Ensaymada (its HUGE, mind you) and went back to the office.

I was excited to open the pastry and taste it. Oh here's what's the inside looks like. It has the right amount of  ube or yam and the ensaymada is not overly sweet or oily from the butter. It's so soft but I bet it'll be softer and more enjoyable if I had put it in the microwave for a few seconds to heat it.

I loved the ensaymada and I would definitely come back to try the other desserts that they have.

Jekyll and Hyde

Last night's Jekyll and Hyde play was great. I've been seeing good reviews for it and they were right. Jett Pangan was the man! Didn't know that Jett could do plays as well as performing in a band. I was impressed with the kind of acting that Kalila Aguilos brought to the stage, she was the one portraying Lucy in the play. Her voice and her looks were perfect for the role.

My First Bon Chon experience

Bon Chon has been in the Philippines for awhile now, and after all this time, I finally tried my first chicken from Bon Chon last night. Before watching the play Jekyll and Hyde, we decided to have dinner and finally chosend Bon Chon. I was really curious on what their chicken taste like cause every time I pass by a Bon Chon chain, it always is filled with so many people, main reason why I still haven't eaten there. Last night, we were lucky to have a vacant table inside their store, so it's decided, I'm having my FIRST Bon Chon chicken tonight! (Kinda pathetic, I know hehe)

Bulgogi Rice Box

Service was fast, we weren't waiting long when our chickens arrived and after a few minutes so did our bulgogi rice box. I noticed the chickens were a bit small, but then again we ordered the small 3pcs thigh chicken. Took my first bite and what can I say, the skin was crispy and yummy, the chicken meat on the other hand was just normal for me.

The Bulgogi rice was yummy although the presentation could have been better. It was yummy looking in their pictures. I even called the staff and have them checked if this is our order, which apparently it is.

I was a bit disappointed with the taste (Max's and Sincerity's chicken were better regarding the taste) but I guess, but I guess I'm just glad I tried them.
