BestFoodForward - NBC Tent, BGC

I'm a bit of a suck up when it comes to bazaars of all sort. I was always present specially the Christmas bazaars. But one of my favorite bazaars are those involving food. All those best chefs and patisserie shares their showmanship and create a feast for us to enjoy. I think that's why I like going to Mercato or Soderno :) .

When I heard of the BestFoodForward bazaar, I was like searching the internet where and when will it take place.
.

It will take place this weekend (tomorrow to be exact) and the good news for me? It's very near my office! I can go there after my shift to check it out. They said that they have more participants this year than the previous one. You can view the whole list here >> Concessionaires. What's even  more better, is that they are doing this for a cause, and their chosen beneficiary is the Unang Hakbang Foundation, a foundation who is continuously working with children and less fortunate people to help them realize and discover what they can do to make their lives great and worth living.

If you'd like to have additional details or information regarding the Bestfoodfoward, you can visit their website at http://www.bestfoodforward.com.ph. Or you may contact them through 0917.887.19330920.914.8175, or 211.9644 or send them an email through eat@bestfoodforward.com.ph .

The Hunger Games - NOT a film review

The Hunger Games, said to be 2012's most anticipated movie. Honestly, I was a bit curious about the movie since some of my friends and colleagues are eagerly talking about it and the advertisement for it is, well you can see it almost anywhere.

I haven't read the book, so I really am clueless as to what to expect from the movie. Or if I will understand what the movie is really about. Having said that, we decided to watch the movie on its premiere night here in the Philippines, (thanks to Ensogo for the voucher. ^_^ ) to avoid all those fans who will be watching it this coming weekend.

When the movie started, it felt like the setting was in the past cause it's somewhat black and white but I'm guessing they were after the feel of the scene relative to the place where the shot it. As the movie progressed, I understood the concept/reason of why they had to play the Hunger Games, how they were selected, the rules etc. I was hooked. How can I not be? The actress who played Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) delivered the part well. She had those emotions inside her that really came out. Didn't think she can act this well when I saw her in X-Men: First Class.

A friend who has read the book even said that the movie is not that far from what was written in the book which I find amazing, since some movie adaptations tend to have a different story line than that from the book.

Mey Lin at SM MOA

This is a long over due post Haha. Anyway, Mey Lin is your typical Chinese restaurant which serves noodles, dimsums and the likes. But don't expect too much on the ambiance or the restaurant itself as they have a slightly small place with a lot of tables. You can overlook the restaurant itself, since they have a really yummy food (I have eaten here quite a few times).

For starters, we tried their Jelly Fish. Looks tasty right? Well it is. It's crunchy and is seasoned well. Though yes it's crunchy, some parts of the food is like rubber to me. Kind of inconsistent, I know.

Fried Pork Chop Noodles. Yes they have it separated at first. It's up to you if you want to put the pork chop into the noodles or eat it separately. Their pork chop, as you can see above, is golden brown, perfectly cooked. Crunchy breading and and they have a generous amount of "pork" in it. Since some restaurants have a lot of breading and less pork. Going to their noodles, tasty and al dente! It really tastes good maybe because their noodles are hand made or made from scratch.

Here we have their version of Siao Long Pao. It was fresh from their steamer so we ate it almost immediately. Only to be a bit disappointed. My first Siao Long Pao experience was with Shi Lin, a taiwanese restaurant in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). The Siao Long Pao there looks the same as the above  but the inside is what differentiates the two. In the Siao Long Pao above, it has a lot of meat inside. Don't get me wrong, some dimsums are supposed to have a lot of meat inside but not this one. 'Cause it has to have a broth inside. This was the lacking in Mey Lin's Siao Long Pao, got little to no broth inside, a bit disappointing but at least the taste was there.

I'd recommend Mey Lin specially if you love your noodles.

Heaven and Eggs at Glorietta 4

Lunch at H&E. My first time to eat here and I got my mouth watering from all the choices. And the ordering took a little longer than usual. HAHA

My girl got their Tocino. Tasted good and the eggs look yummy. The tocino were grilled which made it more tastier than when you fry them.

I got their food called Jeproks which has everything you can eat during breakfast in small portions. Everything's yummy! From the crunchy adobo floss to the authentic lucban longganisa!

I loved the food here at H&E. Really thinking of trying their beakfast buffet my next visit here.

Tully's at BGC

Finally, we got to use the voucher we bought from ensogo.

Baked cheescake! (i know cheesecake again? what can I do, they're YUM!) :) Yummy cheesecake but a bit too soft for me. But I think that's the way it's supposed to be since it's baked.

Apple and Rosemary bread. I liked the bread itself. But surprisingly, the part where there is apple is not appealing to me.

Oh yes, chocolate cake is yet to be missed. Can't really say no to chocolate cake. Though this specific cake kind of lacks moisture. But all in all, it still is a good one.

Anyone who tried other cakes or even their coffee? Feel free to comment

Holly's Coffee at One Archer Place in Taft

Had dinner again at Raps and decided to have dessert at Holly's Coffee.

Holly's Coffee is an international coffee company which originated in Korea and was established in 1998. Now this branch is the first one in the Philippines. The second one is still under construction in SM Southmall.

Back to us eating, we ordered the New York Cheesecake and their Tiramisu.

The cheesecake is heaven. Smooth and texture is fine and not that soft. The crust underneath, ugh perfect! It doesn't crumble and is still intact when you cut the cake.

Tiramisu! No one can go wrong with tiramisu :) yum yum but I like the cheesecake more.

I loved Holly's food but I think I really need to taste their coffee. After all that's their specialty :)
